How has Kenan-Flagler prepared you for your career?
Kenan-Flagler provided me with every tool I needed to be successful in my career. I have the strong technical base of finance, accounting, and investment management as well as the “soft skills” from my organizational behavior and global business classes. Finally, the interaction with classmates and faculty all over the world allowed me to develop a professional network that I would have never had if I had not come to Kenan-Flagler.
What do you do?
I work in wealth management as a banker. My primary role is to do business development and asset management for J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
What has the UNC Kenan-Flagler network helped you to achieve in your career?
I cannot say enough about the Kenan-Flagler network. When I was looking at business schools, the Kenan-Flagler alums reached out to me more than any other school. While I was in school, the Kenan-Flagler alums made sure that I had opportunities to speak with the key decision-makers of their respective firms. Even as a graduate, I am a giver and receiver of opportunities within the Kenan-Flagler community. Some schools claim to have this type of network, but we display every day.
What does the Consortium means to you?
The Consortium values have always gone hand in hand with the values of Kenan-Flagler. I always believed that we should never forget the strong network that we have with the Consortium. As with Kenan-Flagler, we have this great resource and we must continue to leverage and be leveraged by. Also, the experiences of the different students are another beneficial component of the Consortium since you get to continue your learning through conversations with your colleagues. I look forward to seeing the long-term impact that the Consortium has on the business community.
