How has Kenan-Flagler prepared you for your career?
My experiences at KFBS were vital to helping me switch careers from General Management to Consulting. KFBS's holistic approach to matriculation formed a phenomenal launch pad for my career in General Management Consulting. I fondly recall two consecutive summer internships, a broad selection of courses, complex case studies, high-performance teams, engaging professional development clubs, and international immersions. An "adrenaline rush" is an understatement when describing the endless "case cracking" workshops, fireside chats with major corporations, Wall Street informational interviews, NBMBAA Case Competitions, and more. My prior experience and my passion for problem solving combined with these eclectic KFBS opportunities have enabled me to thrive in General Management Consulting.
What do you currently do?
As a Transformation Executive, I help senior leaders set their enterprise strategic agenda and solve their toughest challenges resulting in high impact, often global outcomes.
What has the UNC Kenan-Flagler network helped you to achieve in your career?
The expansive KFBS network has provided me with a fortified web of support. Thanks to the KFBS MBA, Alumni, Faculty, Career
Services staff, Peer Coaches, and my KFBS colleagues (along with a booming economy), I entertained 10 job offers upon graduation in 2000.
These individuals continue as the cornerstone of my network to this day. I always look to Consortium Alumni when building new ventures and posturing for future opportunities…and I have never been disappointed. For example, I leveraged my network at KFBS as a beta-site to launch the first of many case competitions for Booz Allen Hamilton in the National Capital Region. And, I will continue to reach back for Consortium talent every chance that I get.
What does the Consortium mean to you?
The Consortium Fellowship and subsequent experience are priceless!!! The Consortium catapulted my career in multiple dimensions through intellectual, financial, social, political, professional and ethical enrichment. I count my Consortium experience as a profound milestone, and I remain extremely grateful for the impact that it has made on my life.
