Where did you grow up?
Durham, North Carolina
Position prior to Kenan-Flagler:
District Facilities Manager, Target Corporation
MBA Concentration:
Real Estate Development and Finance
Undergraduate Institution:
North Carolina Central University
Why did you choose Kenan-Flagler? I chose Kenan-Flagler because of it’s top-rated Real Estate program, it’s strong alumni network, and because I missed living in North Carolina.
How will you make an impact while at Kenan-Flagler? For 2nd year students, how will you make an impact after your time at Kenan-Flagler? Minorities are woefully underrepresented at most top Real Estate programs, including Kenan-Flagler. I will do my part to demonstrate leadership and engagement within my chosen concentration, while creating a path for increased minority participation.
What has been your most memorable moment at Kenan-Flagler? My most memorable moment came in the form of two breaths on the first day of class. The first, was long and thoughtful. I recalled the late nights I spent studying for the GMAT, writing and re-writing application essays, and finally, visiting campus and interviewing. The second, was sharp, and purposeful, as I mentally transitioned from business professional to professional business student. It’s go time!
Post-MBA Career Goals: Attain a real estate development role with a top real estate firm.
What three words best describe you and why? Fighter, Focused, Fun. I competed as an amateur boxer growing up, so I bring a “fighter’s spirit” to everything I do. I know what I want to do, and I am acting with energy and resolve to get there. After spending the last seven years in New Orleans, I know how to laissez les bons temps rouler!
How will you define success within the MBA program? I leave Kenan-Flagler well equipped with the skills, resources, and directions needed to navigate towards my ultimate career destination.
