Where did you grow up?
Orangeburg, South Carolina
Position prior to Kenan-Flagler:
Electrical Engineer for Duke Energy-Catawba Nuclear Station
MBA Concentration:
Entrepreneurship/Consulting
Undergraduate Institution:
Clemson University
Why did you choose Kenan-Flagler? I chose Kenan-Flagler because of the community. It sounds cliché, however my experience during Inside Kenan-Flagler was unforgettable. It was so exciting to feel connected with people who were genuine and just like family! Furthermore to have that same feeling with each subsequent visit, I knew that UNC was the place for me.
How will you make an impact while at Kenan-Flagler? For 2nd year students, how will you make an impact after your time at Kenan-Flagler? I hope to make an impact in a number of different ways while at Kenan-Flagler. First, I hope to help make Kenan-Flagler one of the schools of choice in the Sports and Entertainment industry. Second, I hope to pay it forward as an MBA Ambassador by showing perspectives the very thing that I fell in love with during my first visit—the Kenan-Flagler Community.
What has been your most memorable moment at Kenan-Flagler? My most memorable moments are with my Consortium family. I love how close we have become in such a short period time. From our quick trips to the beach to our late night study sessions, it is great to know that I have gained another family that will be with me every step of the way.
Post-MBA Career Goals: I plan to pursue a career in strategy consulting or marketing.
What three words best describe you and why? Energetic—A true optimist at heart, I love bringing a positive, vibrant energy to those around me. Personable—One of my favorite things to do is to meet new people. There are so many things that we can learn from one another and I hope that people learn something from me as well. Determined—I have always been determined to do my best, so that I can give my best to the community around me.
How will you define success within the MBA program? I will consider this MBA venture a success if I find a job that I love, learn all that I can to be a better business leader and a better Alexia, and leave my footprint on the Kenan-Flagler Brand!
