As my business school career comes to a close, I have thought a lot about my biggest takeaways but everything continues to come back to themes. These reflection themes are challenge and opportunity. Business school has been challenging from multiple perspectives. The rigorous coursework, the lack of enough hours in the day, and the myriad of personalities are just a few of the areas where I have been stretched. The challenges have taught me that my career is not going to be easy and that to get things done, I have to utilize resources, manage my time efficiently, and delegate so that I accomplish goals through others.
While the challenges have made me better, I also think about the opportunities that Kenan-Flagler has afforded me. The opportunity to meet awesome employers that were interested in me joining their firms. The opportunity to grow as a leader through student organizations, Leadership Immersion, and multiple personal connections. The opportunity to build an entirely new network of faculty and classmates that I can utilize for the rest of my career. All of these opportunities would not have been there unless I had come back to business school and the Consortium is a major reason why I decided to take this step. The Consortium’s mission has really resonated with me and I am so proud to say that I am a UNC Kenan Flagler Consortium alumnus!
